Research and community preview

DeepDelver helps you discover attributed research and share experiences. Records may be historical, approximate, disputed or incomplete. A mineral name does not establish gemstone quality or guarantee a find. Community stories and vote percentages are self-reported opinions rather than scientific review.

The service is under development. Features may change or be unavailable. Keep your own copies of content you need. These terms do not remove rights that applicable law gives you.

Explore with care

Old workings and surrounding ground can contain hidden shafts, unstable rock, contaminated soil or water, and unsafe air. Avoid entering abandoned workings. A map pin, photograph or community vote does not assess current safety, provide navigation, or grant permission to enter or collect. See the safety note and its official source.

Your account and contributions

Keep your sign-in details secure. Share only content you have the right to share, with accurate attribution where required. Respect other people’s privacy. Do not post unlawful content, harassment, threats, impersonation, spam or others’ private information. Do not attempt to bypass audience restrictions or misuse the service.

You retain your rights in your contributions. By deliberately sharing a post or comment, you permit DeepDelver to store and display that content to its selected audience for the operation of the service. Private journals remain private; selecting photos to share does not publish their journal.

Audiences and moderation

Choose Public or Approved followers before publishing a post. Comments and photos inherit the post audience. Place comments are public. Public material can be read anonymously. Approval removal and blocking restrict future authorized access but cannot recall copies already made.

Use the available reporting controls for problematic shared content. Authorized moderators can hide or restore shared content under the community rules. Moderation does not verify a mineral identification. Contact the operator above about a moderation decision.

Research and image rights

Original sources, Kartverket maps and representative images retain their stated rights. Follow linked source licences and credits. Gallery images illustrate materials generally and are not evidence of a specimen from a mapped place.

Privacy, law and changes

Read the Privacy policy for cookies, device drafts, audience choices and optional analytics. DeepDelver is operated from Norway and these terms are governed by Norwegian law, subject to mandatory rights under applicable law. The date above identifies this version of the terms.
